I'm Lindsey, the artist behind The Mary Lous.

The Mary Lous is a textile and accessories studio creating original hand-painted and hand-marbled silk pieces inspired by color, travel, and joyful escapism.

Every collection begins long before a bag is made.

I am constantly collecting visual fragments—color combinations, patterns, textures, and moments—that later find their way into a textile design. Many of my pieces begin with a photograph taken during my travels and evolve through sketching, experimentation, painting, and marbling in the studio. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each textile is created by hand and carries the subtle variations, movement, and character that make every piece unique.

The result is a series of wearable objects designed to bring a sense of fun, beauty, and escape into everyday life.
